YCH Saturday Social 19/03/22

As the spring sunshine begins to blaze down upon our glorious North York Moors once again, we were greeted on Saturday morning with another big group of new and familiar faces, full of big smiles and ready for some moor miles. As always we began from the Hub, briefly joining our very own YCH trails and the road upto Banely Bank and Glaisdale Rigg, where early efforts were rewarded by enthralling views. Dry trails awaited us across the rigg where we hit some speedy singletrack before cruising through to Glaisdale village. Another gentle climb or two later we found ourselves back on the moor top near Danby Beacon via Lealholm Side, from here we dissected into two sub-groups, with one heading straight for the beacon, while the other ventured further over the moor for some more singletrack action. A fast, flowing descent into Danby followed before one final push over Ainthorpe Rigg, where the thrilling finale of Crossley Side descent provided the home stretch back to the Hub. The usual post-ride feed took place in our cosy cafe before we headed our separate ways with the rest of the weekend ahead of us. What a way to start a Saturday!
